Meet Jamison “Jamie” Statema, a Dove Award–winning songwriter, speaker, and performer whose work sits at the intersection of creativity, social-emotional learning, and meaningful connection.
Jamie’s music has been featured on PBS, CBS, ABC, NBC, and Fox News, with songs performed by artists and brands including Kirk Franklin, VeggieTales, and even Barney. He brings the same creativity and clarity to the stage as a speaker—blending humor, live music, and powerful storytelling to create engaging, memorable experiences for diverse audiences.
In addition to his work in music, Jamie serves as Chief Creative Officer at TheHopeLine, a national crisis-support organization for students and young adults. Through this role, he has helped shape messaging and resources informed by millions of real-world conversations with young people navigating stress, anxiety, trauma, and identity.
Jamie enjoys speaking at educational conferences, school districts, mental-health events, and parent gatherings, where he focuses on topics such as emotional awareness, resilience, healthy communication, and helping children feel heard and understood. His approach is practical, age-appropriate, and trauma-informed—designed to support teachers, counselors, administrators, and families alike.
Using live looping technology, Jamie builds music in real time during his talks, creating an immersive, multi-sensory experience that keeps audiences engaged while reinforcing key concepts. His sessions consistently receive high marks for being authentic, accessible, and immediately applicable.
Jamie is also the author of the children’s book A Broken Crayon, which is increasingly used as a social-emotional learning resource in classrooms, counseling settings, and family discussions. Through story, music, and conversation, his work helps children—and the adults who support them—build language for emotions, normalize struggle, and strengthen connection.

I've known Jamie for almost 20 years and I can promise you that he is the real deal when it comes to communicating with kids and families. He has an amazing story!
